POLICIES AND PROCEDURES NON-COMPANY AND COMPANY DANCERS
NON-COMPANY STUDIO PROGRAM (Now Offering Classes for Ages 2-7)
Our goal is that each student experience life lessons as they grow in an artistic environment. No matter your age or level, there is a place for you at MIAMI DANCE COLLECTIVE. We offer recreational dance classes for youth through teen. With our amazing faculty and state-of-the art facility, we are confident that you will enjoy learning ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, and creative movement.
THE BALLET PROGRAM
As the backbone of Miami Dance Collective's ideology, the ballet program is comprised of four levels of training.
Studio Program: Beginner - Intermediate
Audition Required: Youth Company: Levels 1/2
Audition Required: Junior Company: Level 3
Audition Required: Apprentice Company: Level 4
Audition Required: Pre Professional 1 & 2 Company: Level 5 and Up
Each level focuses on developing the dancer's technique, discipline, artistry, and performance skills. Dancers will participate in an end-of-the-year performance, giving them the opportunity to perform excerpts from classical ballet repertoire.
Please have your child arrive ten minutes prior to class start time dressed in the proper attire, shoes, and hairstyle. Please do not be late for classes. Proper technical warm-ups are done at the beginning of class and are vital to preventing injuries. Warm-up is critical to proper dance execution and the safety of your child. Students who are late and miss warm-up, may not be allowed to take the remainder of that class. This will be determined by the instructor.
This will be at the discretion of the instructor. We have a professional staff to ensure that each student is placed in the class best suited for them, ensuring quality instruction at the correct level.
Parent’s observance of classes is recommended and encouraged. Parents must view through the television monitors located in the lobby area. No parents will be allowed into studios without permission from instructors. Please remove shoes before entering studios.
BEFORE AND AFTER CLASS
Miami Dance Collective is not a daycare or babysitting service. When one class ends, another starts; teachers and staff are not responsible for watching students once class has dismissed. Please instruct your child to wait inside the studio lobby for their rides and to inform the staff if their ride is late. Students are not permitted to wait outside for rides. No student will be allowed to leave the premises unsupervised unless given written consent from parent or guardian.
Miami Dance Collective reserves the right to combine classes, change times, provide substitute teachers and/or replacement teachers or cancel or combine any class with 6 or less students. There is only one teacher assigned per class. There may be times when two teachers will be assisting each other. Teacher assignments can be subject to change if in the best interest of
students and teachers. These decisions will be made by the director.
QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS
Please do not engage the instructors at any time in their respective dance studios to ask questions. When one class ends, another one begins. If you need to speak directly to the teacher, please leave a message at the front desk. Messages will be returned as soon as possible. The teacher and/or the parents can schedule a studio meeting if needed. This should be done via email email@example.com.
You may make up missed classes in other comparable classes within the month of the missed class. Missed classes are not refundable. Tuition is still due to hold the spot for your child. There are no refunds if you drop a class(es) in the middle of the month, choose other activities over dance class, or simply skip class. Miami Dance Collective requests that a parent call the studio to inform the teacher and the staff of any absence, illness or problem a student might be having. If your child has a contagious illness, please keep them out of class until they are recovered and can participate fully without risk of relapse; Injured dancers are asked to “sit out” and observe classes until completely healed and doctors approval is given to resume classes.
Once a student has enrolled, paid the registration fee, and tuition has been paid, we will permit the student to try other classes if teacher and parent agree (there must be space available in that class, it must be the correct level, and it must be with teacher approval).
FIRST TRIAL CLASS IS ALWAYS FREE!

During Act Two, the Miami Dance Collective Company will take part in its own conceptualized performance. This performance may or may not include choreography that they have competed during the season. This performance will be rehearsed separately and be the outcome of the dancers being pushed beyond their limits, emotionally, spiritually, and artistically. This performance is to help prepare the Company dancers by giving a taste of what it would be like to dance in a real professional company. Resident, Local, Guest, and Student choreography will be utilized for this concert. End Of Season Performance Fee TBA.
